My husband Jim and I bought our home 23 years ago in our efforts to downsize and enjoy Granville village life.  We were enchanted with the location - a quiet street just one block from Denison with easy walkability to the downtown restaurants and shops. Several years later our youngest son left for college and we began plans to change our home to be empty nesters, creating a main floor master suite, laundry room, etc., leaving our upstairs 2 bedrooms and a bath available for guests.  Then 4 years ago, when the Granville Inn and Buxton were in the process of changing owners and management,, a friend in the Alumni office asked if we would consider putting our name on Denison's list of accommodations.  It began our involvement with hosting, meeting some wonderful Denison families and their students.

I have deep roots "on the hill", recently participating in my 50th Denison reunion, and both my parents and my mother's mother and my father's father graduated from Denison in the years between 1906 and 1940 - I have Adytums from 1906 and 1909, several in the 1930s and my mother's from 1940, as well as my own.  My husband graduated from Holy Cross College in Worchester, Massachusetts, also a very good small liberal arts school, so we frequently have heated discussions about which school is prettier, has the biggest endowment and the best student body.  Because of our "guest house" involvement we've had a chance to meet many of the students and have been impressed over and over again with the quality of students on this campus.
